Owing to outbreak of Covid19 in India travel restrictions have been placed in Himachal Pradesh. As of September 2020 travelling within and outside Himachal Pradesh has been permitted. Here are the fine prints for e-Registration for travel in Himachal Pradesh. (Updated on September 01, 2020)

If you wish to travel within Himachal Pradesh, between or inter districts then ๐ง๐จ e-Pass is required to travel. One can travel in buses and taxis within the state. Night travel has been allowed within the state.

In case travelling from Himachal Pradesh to out of state you will require an e-Pass which can be applied on https://covid19epass.hp.gov.in/
a) If you are an Himachal resident and travelling outside the state in your own vehicle then you do not require an e-Pass provided you don’t want to come back. For example you want to join your job outside the state etc then you don’t require an e-Pass. However if you wish to hire a cab for the journey then you will have to register as taxis can only travel outside the state with a ๐ฏ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ e-registration.
b) If you are an Himachal resident and wish to travel outside the state and return back in 48 hours then you will require to register but will ๐ง๐จ๐ญ be quarantined upon coming back. This is applicable for those who wish to travel outside the state for business meetings, official travel or visiting hospitals etc. You will have to come back within 48 hours to avoid quarantine.

Travel to Himachal Pradesh is strictly on e-Registration for the residents who are stuck outside the state. You will have to Register on the link mentioned above. However in case you have a valid train / flight ticket of travel then e-Pass is not required. People coming into Himachal Pradesh will be mandatory quarantined. If coming from Red Zone it will be institutional quarantine and if coming from Orange / Green Zone it will be home quarantine. If residents have a Covid 19 negative report of the past 96 hours then they will not be quarantined. (RT-PCR test report)

Tourists arrivals has been allowed into the state subject to:
– A covid negative test report of the past 96 hours from ICMR approved lab.
– Tests which are admissible are RT-PCR, TRU-NAAT and CB-NAAT
– Test report of children below 10 years not required
– Minimum stay of 2 nights in hotels within the state is mandatory.

– You don’t require an e-Pass if travelling within Himachal Pradesh.
– You will require an e-Pass if travelling outside Himachal Pradesh by taxi.
– You will not be quarantined if you are travelling outside from Himachal Pradesh and return back within 48 hours.
– Tourists are allowed in the state subject to certain conditions.
