Sarahan is small village in Himachal Pradesh situated at a height of 7,500 ft, 564 kilometers from New Delhi and 180 km from Shimla near the Nathpa-Jhakri hydroelectric project. There is a temple dedicated to the mother goddess Bhimakali. It is one of 51 Shakti Peethas. It was the summer capital of the princely state of Bushahar. This is a place gifted with natural beauty. The town is also known as the gateway of Kinnaur. Seven kilometers below Sarahan is the river Satluj.

How to reach
The best way to reach Sarahan is by train to Kalka or by air to Chandigarh and then move by road to Sarahan. Taxis can be hired. Bus services are also accessible from Shimla and Chandigarh. It takes around 6 to 7 hours by road to get to Sarahan from Shimla. The road is on NH – 22 upto Jeori, from where it bifurcates to Sarahan. The nearest airport (195km) and railway station (175 km) is at Shimla
